The Mountaineers (8-4) look to extend their NECBL-leading win streak to seven tonight as they play host to the Ocean State Waves (7-3). Vermont swept rival Valley in a double-header yesterday to even the season series at two apiece. The Mountaineers hitters have heated up over the last five games- .356 as a team- a mark that was helped by 23 hits in a 16-9 marathon win over Laconia.

VM- RHP Elliot Ashbeck (2-0, 0.64)
Vermont right-hander Elliot Ashbeck (Bradley) will bring his 2-0 record into tonight's matchup, which will mark his third start on the season. Ashbeck faced Sanford in both of his starts and went seven innings in both, allowing just one run and nine hits and holds a WHIP of 0.85. Ocean State counters with right-hander Robert Plohr (St. Louis), who ranks last on the Waves in ERA with a 7.71 mark. He's only thrown 2 1/3 innings in relief against Plymouth, but he gave up two earned runs on five hits. He did strikeout three.
