The Game
Vermont (5-4) and Laconia (3-7) play eachother for the second time in three days, while heading in opposite directions. The Mountaineers are currently a half-game up on Valley and North Adams for first in the Northern Division and on a three-game winning streak. Laconia, on the other hand, have dropped two straight and are tied for last. Vermont looks to improve to a perfect 3-0 on the season against the Muskrats. The Northern Division has struggled this season, going 24-32 as a division compared to the Southern's much better mark of 31-23. Another thing about todays game is it's the return of 2013 Mountaineer Pat Wiese, who beat bone cancer and will throw out the first pitch.
Starting Pitchers
LAC- RHP Jordan Sheffield (0-1, 1.92)
VM- LHP Ryan Davis (1-1, 4.62)
Vermont left-hander Ryan Davis (LeMoyne) will be making his third start of the season tonight, looking to bounce back from a rough start against Valley. He gave up eleven hits and six earned runs in his first start since earning Pitcher of the Week honors, coincidentally against the Muskrats on opening night. Right-hander Jordan Sheffield (Vanderbilt) will start for the Muskrats. He's 0-1 on the season and has ten strikeouts over nine innings. He took the loss against Vermont on opening night, allowing two runs- neither earned- while striking out five over six innings.
